The Berkwood Graphite Project is located within the jurisdiction of Quebec, in the Manicouagan Regional County Municipality, three hours driving time from the city of Baie-Comeau. Easy access is provided via a major secondary road and numerous tertiary and forest roads that traverse the property. The Zone 1 resource lies 8 km southwest of Nouveau Monde’s deposit which has a $3.5 billion NPV on it. The Companies Zone 1 resource, and that of Nouveau Monde, share many similar geological characteristics, with the Zone 1 resource being of exceptionally high grade and coarse flake size by global standards. The current mineral resource at the Berkwood Graphite Project includes in-pit constrained resource totalling 1,755,300 tonnes of indicated resources at 17.00 % Cgr and 1,526,400 tonnes in inferred resources at 16.39 % Cgr.
In-pit Resource at Lac Gueret South Project (rounded numbers)
Current Resources (as of June 17th, 2019)
| Minerals Resources Category | Tonnage (Mt) | Grade (% Cgr) | Cgr (t) | Cut off |
| Indicated | 1.76 | 17.0 | 299,200 | 6.81% |
| Inferred | 1.53 | 16.4 | 250,200 | 6.81% |
The mineral resource estimates above are described in the technical report entitled, NI 43-101 Technical Report Mineral Resource Estimate on the Lac Gueret South Graphite Property, Quebec, Canada. With an Effective date of June 30th, 2019, by Edward Lyons, PGeo., Florent Baril, ing., and Claude Duplessis, ing.

The Berkwood Graphite Project is immediately adjacent to Nouveau Monde’s $3.6 Billion NPV Uatnam Graphite Mining Project and is likely part of the same geological structure, especially since the grades and metallurgy of both companies graphite is similar. Over the past 6 years the Berkwood Project has been drilled numerous times and has a proven resource of 3.2 million tonnes of indicated and inferred, as per our 43-101 resource report. This resource estimate should be easy to expand as to date only approx 10 % of the properties have been drilled. The Company has numerous other properties with outcropping graphite that have tested as high as 48% graphite. Follow up drilling is planned on these properties to expand the resource estimate.

Bulk Sample
18 Skids – 27 Tons Taken – Using air separation to process the graphite form 17% to 92-96% using Volt Carbon Tech patented process. VOLT analyses of the processed samples demonstrated a 96.1-per-cent purity in graphitic carbon and 98.1 per cent total carbon, as per VOLT news release dated August 16, 2023.
- No Toxic Waste – Reduced Carbon footprint & ESG Friendly
- Separated without water, reagents or chemicals
- Chrystallinity and conductivity maintained
- High grade, large to jumbo flake natural graphite
- Road accessible project means less disruption if mined
- At surface graphite better for environment, less waste rock
- Clean, green renewable and affordable hydroelectric power – only in Quebec
The Company reported on August 2, 2023 that a sample totalling approximately 27 tonnes of graphitic mineralization was collected from zones 1 and 6 at GEM’s Berkwood graphite property and has since been delivered to VOLT.
Over the past months, Volt has conducted comprehensive dry separation procedures, using its innovative proprietary technology on various graphitic rock, including those received from GEM. VOLT analyses of the processed samples demonstrated a 96.1-per-cent purity in graphitic carbon and 98.1 per cent total carbon, as per VOLT news release dated August 16, 2023.
